Bio: After gradating from Occidental College with a degree in fine art printmaking Lloyd Baggs worked as a fine art lithographer at Gemini G.E.L., Tamarind Institute, as Asst. Master Printer at Editions Press and as Master Printer of Cirrus Editions Ltd. The opportunity to collaborate with some of the top artists of the generation inspired him, challenged him and taught him the level of dedication that it took to be world class in any field. During this time he started building acoustic guitars as a hobby. This became a business and soon he was building guitars for Jackson Browne, Ry Cooder, Janis Ian, Graham Nash and other prominent musicians. An interest in the amplification of acoustic instruments then led Lloyd and his wife, Nadine, to establish www.lrbaggs.com. LR Baggs has become a world leader in acoustic amplification with many award winning products, dealers and distributors in over 30 countries and diverse OEM clients such as Breedlove, Crafter, Gibson, Godin, Larrivee, Paul Reed Smith, Santa Cruz and Yamaha Guitars. Artists using LR Baggs products are a "who's who" of acoustic music and include Neil Young, Tom Prtty, James Taylor, Ricky Skaggs, Of Monsters ans Men, The Lumineers, Nickel Creek, Josh Ritter, Thompson Square and Stirgill Simpson. His passion for photography dates back to his pre-teen years and a Brownie box camera. He has had darkrooms since college and has been active in photography most of his life. Besides his family, his business, and photography he enjoys fly fishing, is an active cyclist and has competed in downhill mountain bike racing for many years.
